4:15 AM came really fast for me. Faith and I jumped in the car and headed to the airport by 5. We met Erin at the airport and made it through check-in and security without any problems.
on the plane to San Francisco
The flight from Houston to San Francisco seemed shorter than the four hours it took. Upon arrival in San Francisco, the three of us headed to the international terminal to catch our flight to Hong Kong. It was very tempting to stop and shop at Gucci and Burberry on the way to our gate. We knew we needed to get to the terminal in order to charge our phones and computers for the fourteen hour flight ahead of us. We loaded up on snacks and waited for time to board.
Looking around at the other passengers at the gate, I could tell that we were already surrounded by the Asian culture. Of the 375 people boarding the plane I think we were the only American passengers. Everyone was speaking Chinese and other languages I could not recognize.

our MASSIVE plane to Hong Kong
I had never seen a plane that huge in my entire life! It had two stories! We were flying coach (thanks Mom…jk) but we got to glimpse at the first and business class seats as we passed by. Doesn’t seem fair to me that those people get a reclining chair/bed when I’m stuck in an airplane seat. We made the best of it and the flight wasn’t as terrifying and horrible as I was expecting. I think the scariest part was the unidentifiable dinner they served.
Most of the windows were closed for the entire flight. I got blasted with light anytime I cracked my blinds. It was strange to be flying for such a long time and never see darkness.
After napping, watching movies, reading, eating, stretching, and playing Angry Birds for fourteen hours we arrived in Hong Kong at last!
Gathering all of our luggage and finding our driver was a piece of cake. They were waiting for us at the gate right as we got off the plane. To my surprise our driver led us to a Rolls Royce that was to take us to our hotel for the evening.

us and our sweet ride in front of the Peninsula
Upon arrive at the Peninsula Hong Kong I was stunned by how beautiful everything was! I cannot describe so here are a lot of pictures of our hotel room. We will do more exploring tomorrow because I am exhausted and need to get some rest.
